Pals end up paying £800 for a Big Mac

A GROUP of friends from Manchester were fined by police after making a 124-mile round trip – to go to McDonald’s.

Police in Staffordshire say the four people from different addresses were stopped in a car in Uttoxeter on Friday night.

When asked why they were so far away from home they said they had been to McDonald’s.

They were fined a total of £800.

Current lockdown restrictions mean people are not allowed to leave home to meet socially with anyone they do not live with and are not in a support bubble with.
