Klopp claims his champs are ‘struggling for form’

- By DAVID BYROM

JURGEN Klopp admits his Liverpool side are struggling for form ahead of facing United today.

Solskjaer’s men face their fierce rivals sitting three points ahead of them in the Premier League table after Tuesday night’s win over Burnley.

Liverpool have not been at their best recently with disappointing draws against West Brom and Newcastle and a defeat to Southampton.

Klopp is well-aware of his side’s lack of form going into the game but he does not think they are too far away from getting back to their best.

“I’m looking forward to it, it’s a great game,” he said.

“Two good football teams face each other, the away team doesn’t have to travel too long, so that’s good and it’s a historic derby.

“There are many good things to say about it but it’s a difficult one as well. It looks like United are flying at the moment, we’re kind of struggling a little bit, that’s how it is.

“We’ve not had the result we’ve wanted to have but we don’t feel too far away from our top shape, so we’ve tried to use the time to get a bit closer and make it an interesting and exciting game. That’s all I need to look forward to a game, so it’s really exciting.”

Klopp revealed part of his preparation for the game was training at kick-off time for the contest.

He said: “We trained at 4pm, I try to train at match time.

“That’s my thing, biorhythm and stuff like this. It’s probably not important but I’ve done it for 20 years so why should I change?”
