Concern for missing boy
POLICE are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing teenager.
Sonny Housby has not been seen since he left his home eight days ago.
The 15-year-old from Oldham was last spotted at around 2pm on February 22.
He is described as white, skinny, around 5’4” tall with short brown hair.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to aid efforts to trace Sonny.
It is not known what he was wearing when he disappeared.
Sonny is known to visit the Royton area, and could be somewhere in that part of the borough.
If you have seen Sonny, or know where he might be, contact GMP on 101.
A QUARTER of Salford’s population has now been vaccinated against Covid - but the council still has some concerns about the city’s jab programme.
Salford sped ahead of the national timetable, inviting everyone in the first four priority cohort groups including all care homes residents and staff, over-70s and health and social care workers - two weeks ahead of the target date.
But the city was ‘penalised for being proactive’, according to its mayor Paul Dennett, as it was held back from vaccinating people in lower priority groups.
Now GPs running the local vaccination scheme are racing through the remaining priority groups, with 10,000 doses administered last week alone.
Anyone aged 50 or over and adults aged 16 to 65 in an at-risk group who are registered with a Salford GP can book a vaccine appointment online.
Salford’s mayor says second doses of the vaccine are being administered too. But he said deliveries ‘continue to be a challenge’ with vaccine supplies sometimes arriving with ‘less than a week’s notice’ and those running the local programme unable to order the doses they need through the national system.
