Talking BETTING with founder of betfred

- FRED DONE

WHAT an afternoon Sunday turned out to be.

I admitted before the derby I would have taken a 0-0 draw if offered as a United fan, but once again the Reds found the key at the Etihad and bounced back to form in style.

It is incredible how things change over just a few days. I was switching off on Wednesday during that bore draw against Crystal Palace, then could not take my eyes off the TV on Sunday.

I also stated last week that Anthony Martial and Victory Lindelof were two candidates to be sold this summer. Both had good games against City and Martial was Man of the Match!

How many times has Jimmy Greaves been proved right? Football really is ‘a funny old game’!

It will not make any difference to the destination of the Premier League title, however, and I have already paid out on Pep’s men being champions.

City have an ideal opportunity to bounce straight back when they face Southampton tomorrow night at the Etihad, but it will be interesting to see if there are any scars from Sunday.

Saints have scored on their last six visits to the Etihad, but will be missing Danny Ings which is a big blow. It is 17 years since they left City with three points.

It is odd how often teams who lose their good record struggle to rediscover the form for a while, and it would be a bold move to back City at 1/5 to win this game.

Perhaps the Blues to win and both teams to score at 15/8 is more appealing.

Saints are 14/1 to make it backto-back defeats.

As for United, it is back to European action as they welcome Italian giants AC Milan on Thursday.

It is unlikley Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be able to play due to a muscle injury but Diogo Dalot, despite being on loan from United, is allowed to play against the Reds on his return to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are short priced favourites at 4/6 to take a first leg advantage, 8/15 to book a quarter-final spot and 10/3 to win the competition.
