CITY RATED 6 5

- BY SIMON BAJKOWSK

EDERSON

Had to work harder than he normally does with a lack of protection in front of him. Deserved better.

KYLE WALKER

Poor from the first minute and never really recovered. Gave the ball away ahead of the first goal and too lax in possession.

RUBEN DIAS

Less convincing than usual otherwise as he was hurried in possession, but a lovely ball for the first goal.

AYMERIC LAPORTE

Unfortunate to give away pen but still a needless action in the box that won’t help his chances of staying in the team.

ALEKS ZINCHENKO

Very good again from leftback, marauding forward with purpose and always giving his team-mates a passing option.

FERNANDINHO

Looked rusty in the opening stages as Southampton sped past him. Improved in the second half.

KEVIN DE BRUYNE

Two goals, even if he almost missed the first one. He looked better than he did on Sunday, although still far from his best.

ILKAY GUNDOGAN

Knack for goals continues and he wisely stepped back to help Fernandinho out when he saw the Brazilian getting beaten.

BERNARDO

Worked hard but struggled to be involved in City’s best moments. Had a hand in Saints’ second goal.

RIYAD MAHREZ

Best player by a mile. Saints simply couldn’t deal with his quality and he basically ended the contest on his own.

PHIL FODEN

Should have had a penalty and set up both of De Bruyne’s goals. He surely must keep his place after this performance.
