I’d love our sides to rule the roost on elite stage

-

MANCHESTER could soon be the centre of European football, and I would love that to be the case.

With both sides now in the last eight of their competitions, it is just 13/2 that both the Europa League and Champions League trophies are sitting in the cabinets of our two clubs.

To be honest, after getting past Milan, I think the Europa League has opened up for United and they look worthy 6/4 favourites after drawing Granada in the last eight.

As for City, it was pretty comfortable on Tuesday and they are now 2/1 for their ultimate aim of the Champions League. They are just 8/1 to land the quad – what an achievement that would be.

The next step on their road to the clean sweep is the FA Cup quarter final. They are 5/4 to win this competition and this weekend will visit Goodison Park to face Everton.

The Toffees were sticky opponents for City a few years ago, but it looks like Pep has finally mastered them.

They are 1/3 to win the game in 90 minutes against an Everton side who have recorded back-to-back defeats.

That price looks bit skinny, so it is 2/1 they win both halves of the match and 5/1 Sterling scores the first goal.

As for the Red Devils, it is second vs third from the league at the King Power when they face Leicester, who knocked five past the Blades last weekend and have had a free midweek. It will not be easy for United, but they just do not lose any games at present.

The Foxes were having a poor run prior to the last two wins and the league suggests both these sides will be in the Champions League next season.

This one could be tight and United are 11/8 favourites with Leicester 15/8. United have won the FA Cup 12 times and I think it is important Ole wins something this season to get that winning feeling – and goes out in the summer to sign a world class number 9.
