YOU might not be overjoyed at going back to school, but lessons could be about to get more fun.

Brothers Dave and Joe Dunwell, who make up Indie folk band The Dunwells are launching a Dunwells Music Masterclass.

So maybe it’s time to have a word with your teacher?!

Dave and Joe played more than 200 free live shows with a million-plus views throughout lockdown, wanting to provide positivity and support for fans and families.

Now they say: “It will be brilliant to share our music with a younger audience and also a great opportunity for us to help them make some of their own.”

The pair are offering a one-hour session for schools where the band will perform, hold a song-writing clinic and host a Q&A.

The idea is that it will be a source of inspiration and creativity following a challenging year of lockdown and, while the brothers plan to hold the first sessions virtually, they are keen to get back into the classroom too!

A spokesperson for the band adds: “Given the challenges on travel, schools and social distancing they are doing this via Zoom in the first instance. But they are keen to do it in person once things open up and would fit it around a school’s schedule.

“They are targeting kids who enjoy music and have an active interest in learning how to play or write a song.”

The band is not currently looking for a fee but would welcome a donation to MIND or a charity of the school’s choice.
