Heavenly apartment on market is ‘one of a kind’
AN apartment inside an award-winning, Grade II church conversion is up for sale.
The unique property on St Mary Street, Hulme, spans over four floors, and offers original gothic features dating back to 1858.
It’s the only apartment within the conversion to have its own private patio, and is the biggest of the eight sectioned ‘pods’, boasting two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The grand dining area features a double-height beamed ceiling, overlooked by a mezzanine living room that takes advantage of the natural light.
The original sandstone and windows contrast with a modern interior throughout, with an open-plan white kitchen that leads into the dining space.
The second floor reveals the main bathroom and a spacious double bedroom, while on the top floor you’re greeted by the main bedroom and en-suite.
The apartment is exclusively on the market for £325,000 with The McLeod Group, which is partnered with Nest Seekers International whose Hamptons team have their own show on Netflix - Million Dollar Beach House.
“It’s definitely the most interesting apartment I’ve ever come across,” says real estate broker Spencer McLeod.
The renovation is about 10 years old, but Spencer says the market price for this type of property has skyrocketed.
He says Hulme is up-and-coming, and has turned itself around massively in the last five to 10 years with redevelopment.
Because Deansgate Square on the corner of Castlefield shares the Hulme postcode of M15, Spencer says that has had a massive impact on the market, so prices in Hulme have naturally gone up.
“But this property speaks for itself, I wouldn’t say there’s anything else like it on the market,” Spencer says.
“It’s one of a kind. It’s pretty unique.”
