Stars come out to light up NSS for Aces legend

- By HAYLEY BROMLEY

WORLD Speedway of Nations champions Dan Bewley and Tom Brennan headline Belle Vue’s penultimate meeting of the season, the 2021 Peter Craven Memorial, tomorrow.

The pair raced to victory at the National Speedway Stadium - with Great Britain teammates Tai Woffinden and Robert Lambert - last weekend to claim GB’s first pairs gold medal since 1989.

Joining them in Manchester for the club’s flagship event is a star-studded cast of riders which includes former Belle Vue No.1 and GP star Max Fricke and three-time champion of the world Jason Crump.

It will be the first opportunity supporters have had to witness Crump take to the track after he missed both of Ipswich’s planned meetings at the NSS due to injury this year.

Almost all of the 2021 Aces will make their final appearance of the year in the Peter Craven Memorial, with Charles Wright, Jye Etheridge and Brady Kurtz all slated to appear.

German whiz kid Nick Blödorn will also be in action at the stadium for the first time.

Belle Vue’s director of speedway Mark Lemon said: “We’re coming to the end of the season now and what a year it has been for this great club and for our sport.

“We’re thrilled to have such a strong line-up for the Peter Craven Memorial this year; when we celebrate the life and legacy of one of the biggest icons of Belle Vue.

“Dan and Tom make their first appearance at the National Speedway Stadium as World Champions, and fans finally get to see Jason Crump in competitive action for the first time this season.

“There were so many riders prepared to commit to this meeting and we are very grateful to all those who will be joining us.”
