Rumours of City move for Rudiger

-

CITY have held transfer talks with a view to signing antonio Rudiger from their Premier league rivals Chelsea, according to reports.

Rudiger has become a key part of the Blues line-up under Thomas Tuchel and was part of the Chelsea team that overcame City in the Champions league showpiece in Porto last season.

The 28-year-old has already entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

negotiations with Chelsea are set to continue, but there are a string of potential suitors keeping tabs, with City touted as being among them.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with a swoop for the centre-back, while Juventus and big-spending PSg are also thought to be in the mix.

Closer to home, Premier league interest rests with City and Tottenham, according to Italian journalist and transfer expert gianluca di Marzio.

Elsewhere, suggestions that England star Raheem Sterling might embark on a new challenge in la liga have been quashed by Spanish publication Marca.

Restricted in terms of gametime either side of his Euro 2020 heroics with England, the one-time liverpool forward has alerted Barcelona and Real Madrid to his situation.

Seemingly open to a move should the situation not change, Marca suggest cashstrapped Barcelona will be unable to match his would-be £68million price tag.

Real have also been linked with a swoop for the 71-cap England international.

However, amid their ongoing pursuits for Kylian Mbappe (PSg) and Erling Haaland (Borussia dortmund), it’s thought that Sterling falls some way down the list of potential targets for president Florentino Perez. arsenal and newcastle United - fresh from a staggering, yet controversial, £305million Saudi-backed takeover - have also been linked.
