AS we move further into October, and by extension autumn, the nights are slowly drawing in and temperatur­es are getting cooler.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom, as there are some amazing artists and bands set to perform in Manchester over the next year.

There’s a brand new tour announceme­nt from popular grime artist Stormzy, alongside upcoming gigs by Liverpudli­an singersong­writer Jamie Webster, sibling duo Icarus, the talented Georgia, and more.

Stormzy, AO Arena, March 19

SINCE the release of his acclaimed debut, Gang Signs & Prayer – dubbed one of the most influentia­l UK rap projects of all time – and his critically-lauded second album, Heavy Is The Head, Stormzy has become solidified as a global icon.

Almost two years on from its release, H.I.T.H. has only matured with time, and symbolises the evolution of the Croydon MC and his meteoric rise to rap supremacy.

Now, Stormzy comes up north to Manchester to bless the AO Arena with his rhymes.

Jamie Webster, O2 Ritz, Manchester, December 14

FAST-RISING Liverpool-born and bred singer-songwriter, Jamie Webster is set to visit Manchester not long after dropping his new single, Living For Yesterday.

Recorded at Parr Street Studios and produced by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Courteener­s, Vistas), the track drops just in time for his return to the stage.

If you haven’t heard of him yet, get to it – Webster and his establishe­d legion of fans develop an electric atmosphere together and it is that energetic camaraderi­e that is fast becoming his signature.

Icarus, YES (The Pink Room), Manchester, February 4

BRISTOL-BASED brothers, Tom and Ian Griffiths, have shared a long journey through the outer realms of electronic music.

Set to release their new EP, show the duo some support when they pay Manchester a visit.

The Wailers (performing the album, Legend), O2 Ritz, Manchester, February 26

NOT many bands can claim genuine legend status. The Wailers comfortabl­y claim their place in essential music history. Their music was, and is, culture-defining: rebel hearts with brave souls embodying the spirit of 70s era-defining reggae.

The Wailers are coming back to the UK in 2022 for a series of concerts, including heading to O2 Ritz, Manchester.

This is a unique opportunit­y to experience some real roots, rock and reggae with the pioneering band The Wailers.

Bugzy Malone, AO Arena, December 4

BURSTING onto the scene in 2015, Manchester-born wordsmith Bugzy Malone is one of the UK’s brightest independen­t grime and UK rap talents.

Armed with dexterous wordplay, an unwavering sense of self-belief and a willing work ethic, Bugzy has proved time and time again that he is ‘The King of The North.’

Heading out on his headline tour this year, Bugzy will perform eight dates across the UK, culminatin­g with a massive show at Manchester AO Arena.

Georgia, Manchester Gorilla, November 21

SINGER, producer, multiinstr­umentalist, and genrereviv­alist, Georgia is a powerhouse of talent.

The London-based artist represents the era where house and RnB were in their prime and continues to champion the nostalgic sound with a modernised flair.

The jack-of-all-trades musician takes pride in being as hands-on as possible with her releases: writing, recording and performing every instrument herself.

Having made an impact on the scene with her rendition of Kate Bush’s timeless classic, Running Up That Hill, Georgia heads to Manchester next month.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Band On The Wall, Manchester, February 23

LOOKING for a gig to etch into the diary that will pop back up again nearer the time as a nice surprise?

A Yorkshire-born songwriter and performer, Benjamin Francis Leftwich’s tracks come from a place of complete honesty and openness.

Now aged 31, Leftwich continues to reflect, learn and communicat­e his experience with authentici­ty, and the London-based singer and guitarist is enjoying a journey of highly inspired creative energy.
