Corrie star Sam shares a message

-

CORONATION Street star Samia Longchambon has shared a positive message after admitting to suffered a moment of ‘bad anxiety’.

The actress has been at the centre of this week’s episodes as her character Maria Windass went viral for making a stand on climate matters.

But away from screens, Samia has been open about her mental health struggles.

Back in August, the 39-year-old, from Eccles, revealed on Loose Women that she found herself receiving an asthma diagnosis as a child when she was actually suffering from crippling anxiety.

“Everyone who knows me has always known I’m quite an anxious person,” she said on the ITV programme.

“I’m known for being a bit of a worrier and being really cautious with everything.

“I’ve had anxiety since I was a child and when I was a child, my mum took me to the doctors and the doctor first diagnosed asthma because I couldn’t get a deep breath.”

The soap star was applauded earlier this year when she revealed she had achieved a diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

But Samia proved that not every day is perfect.

Posting a selfie to her Instagram Story, the mum-of-two explained: “So yesterday I woke up with bad #anxiety, didn’t feel able to do anything because my thoughts were ruling me and draining my energy.”

She then went on to share a positive message with her followers.

“But today is a new day,” Samia shared. “Just done a run, yoga and feeling so much better and able to get on with things.

“Just shows you what a difference a day (and a good sleep) can make.”
