Dad who died after being stabbed is ‘big loss to community’
TRIBUTES have been paid to a dad who sadly passed away in hospital after sustaining stab wounds during an incident.
Bolton father-of-two, Raja Ghulam Rasool was pronounced dead on Saturday following an attack in Luton on November 15.
The property company boss, 63, has been described as a well dressed, “thoughtful gentleman” who always had a smile on his face.
A staple in his community, he campaigned for the plight of the Kashmiri people and contested an election in the region a couple of years ago.
Mr Rasool, of Wentworth Avenue, also had his own estate agency in Farnworth and took part in local elections in Bolton, campaigning for the Labour Party.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, a friend of Mr Rasool for a number of years, Coun Mudasir Dean said: “He’s going to be missed.
“He was a smart gentleman, very well spoken, always immaculately dressed, always a smile on his face.
“He was the type of person that left an impression.
“It’s a big loss to the community because he was very active.
“He was previously a member of the Labour Party and stood in
elections for them and I think he would have been asset because he was a thoughtful gentleman.
“I want to send my condolences to his friends and family for such a heartbreaking loss.”
A 16-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons has been charged with attempted murder and has since been remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance.
The attack took place in Dorrington Close, Luton, with Mr Rasool losing his fight for life five days later.
