Jack ‘cried his eyes out’ after winning his first title

- By JOE BRAY

JACK Grealish ran into the City dressing room and ‘cried his eyes out’ after Ilkay Gundogan completed the stunning comeback to secure his first Premier League title.

“It’s unbelievable, after the third goal I ran on the pitch and ran straight down the tunnel crying my eyes out,” said the forward, who was an unused substitute against his former club.

“As a kid you want to play in the Premier League, then the next thing you want to do is win it. I can’t put it into words.

“We know how good a side Villa are, they showed it. With our quality we can beat anyone, we did it win the last 20 minutes. I was crying my eyes out.”

Grealish has had plenty of questions aimed at him after his £100m move from Villa in the summer, but he says he has now achieved his main aim behind joining City.

He said: “It means everything. I can’t explain it. I came here to win trophies, that’s what I said when I arrived, and I had a lot of family and friends saying ‘if you can win one what would you win?’ And I swear, for me it’s always the Premier League because I’ve never won it.

“I know a lot of people are desperate to win the Champions League, but for me it’s the Premier League - I just can’t really put it into words.

“Truthfully at 2-0 I thought we were done. You know when you think it’s not your day?

“The players in this team they turned it round. Credit to the manager, he could’ve brought me on - I don’t think he fancied it. But he brought Zinner [Aleks Zinchenko] on who was unbelievable, Raz who set up the first goal and Gundo who scored two.”
