Fury: I’ll fight again, for half a BILLION!

- By CHARLIE WILSON

TYSON Fury says he will remain retired unless he is paid £500million!

Earlier this week Manchester’s world heavyweight champion suggested he’d reversed his decision to retire and stated that he will return to the ring if the right opportunity comes up.

Now he has back-tracked on that and says he will stay retired unless he is gets ‘half a billion.’

Fury insisted after his win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley earlier this year that he was hanging up his gloves – although he is yet to surrender his WBC title and is still officially their champion.

Although he is unbeaten and holds the lineal title, he would have the chance to claim all four heavyweight belts if he fights the winner of

Anthony Joshua’s rematch with IBF, WBA and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk, which is due to take place in Saudi Arabia in August.

And even though he has always been keen to create a legacy, Fury now insists only cash will lure him back into the ring.

“Even that £200m report today, that didn’t even tempt me. That would be like half of what I would want to come out of retirement,” said Fury.

“I’d probably want half a billion to come out of retirement.

“I’m telling you the truth, if you want me out of retirement it’s going to cost half a billion.

“AJ’s bubble’s been burst, he’s been beat twice. He isn’t a virgin anymore, he’s been battered from pillar to post by a fat man on three weeks’ notice and by a middleweight. If it’s half a billion, then I won’t say no, will I?

“What you’ve got to do is go and get half a billion and then the Gypsy King will come out and solve all his problems for him. Because if AJ gets beat again off Usyk, then there’s only gonna be one man to redeem this great fighting nation of the United Kingdom. I can solve all the problems, the embarrassment and all that stuff that’s going to happen.”

RICKY Hatton’s comeback is set to be postponed after the main fight on the bill – Hughie Fury’s clash with Michael Hunter – was cancelled.

The Hitman is due to face Marco Antonio Barrera at Manchester’s AO Arena on July 2 in an eight-round exhibition bout. But with Fury having fallen in, his bout has had to be delayed, putting the whole bill in doubt. Hatton, who has lost more than two stone for the fight, tweeted yesterday: “Gutted to hear that @hughiefury is injured and wish him a speedy recovery. Talks ongoing but not decided yet about whether to move my @SkySports bout on July 2 as well, as it was on the same bill. I will let my fans know the outcome.”
