Mike Summerbee

-

OUR popular nostalgia quiz this week recalls the brilliant career of Manchester City footballer Mike Summerbee and his fellow players of the 1960s and 1970s. The elusive right-winger was a major factor in City winning four trophies from 1968 to 1970 – the First Division title, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup.

In 1975, Manchester United’s 1968 European Cup-winning team reunited to play a testimonial match against a City All-Star side in Summerbee’s honour at Maine Road.

The result was a 4-3 victory for the United XI, which included George Best, Bobby Charlton and Nobby Stiles.

How well do you remember Summerbee and his footballing friends? Why not test your knowledge in our quiz and compare your score with friends?
