Tailed from the moment he arrives in the country, Bond soon learns the disappearances are linked to a criminal genius who is using his intellect to disrupt US rocket tests. This first outing for British secret agent 007 is one of the best and set a high bar for following movies in the franchise to aspire to. Connery is superb in his initial appearance as Bond, displaying menace and wit in equal measure. It’s not hard to see why many still consider him to be the finest 007 ever.
