- By SAMUEL LUCKHURST

UNITED are aiming to hold another friendly before their domestic season resumes later this month.

The Reds have travelled to Spain for a warm-weather training camp and will play Cadiz on Wednesday and Real Betis on Saturday.

The Betis match is ten days before United host Burnley in the fourth round of the League Cup and the club is keen to arrange a behindclosed-doors friendly with a Football League team.

It is understood United have done ‘ring arounds’ to local EFL clubs to gauge whether any would be receptive to contesting a friendly

In the summer, the Reds hosted National League sides Wrexham and Halifax Town at their Carrington training complex either side of their opening weekend defeat to Brighton.

The World Cup final takes place on December 18 – three days before the Burnley tie and nine days prior to United’s first Premier League game of the month against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

At least one Reds player is certain to be involved in the World Cup until the final weekend as semifinalists are guaranteed to play one more game with the Third-place play-off is staged the day before the final.

Argentina have been drawn against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals, pitting Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia against each other, and there is a high probability

France will face

England in the quarter-finals. Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford are in their nations’ squads.

Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot are in the Portugal squad while Casemiro, Fred and Antony are representing Brazil. Portugal and Brazil could meet in the semi-finals. Christian Eriksen and Facundo Pellistri are the only present United squad members whose countries were ejected at the group stage.
