Craft beer festival returns

-

THE MANCHESTER Craft Beer Festival will be returning to the city for the fourth year this July with expert talks, tasting sessions and a selection of more than 500 different brews to try.

The popular event will take place at Depot Mayfield from July 5 to 6 and will feature appearances from Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch beer expert Mark Dredge as well as big names in the UK and local beer community including Cloudwater, Track, Marble, Northern Monk and Seven Brothers.

More than 65 brewers and suppliers will be on hand throughout the two-day festival, whilst there will also be a wide selection of Margarita’s, rum and cider available too for when you fancy a change of tipple. A number of street food vendors will also set up shop in the event’s Food Block Party including Almost Famous, Bundobust, Mediterranean delights from MorMor and New York-style pizza from Voodoo Rays. Hosted by We Are Beer, the popular event has welcomed more than 40,000 guests across its festivals in the city as well as in London and Bristol. Promoting an ‘all in’ experience, a standard entry ticket costing £57 - will include all beer samples, a glass and access to all talks and events.

As the event will coincide with the quarter-finals of the UEFA Euro’s 2024, there will be live screenings of the games on a big screen. There will also be expert-led talks, with the likes of Craft Beer Channel’s Jonny Garret already confirmed, as well as live music and tours.

Bosses behind the event said they hoped to bring some celebration back into the hospitality industry at a different time and to recognise those making a success despite the odds.

Greg Wells, co-founder of We Are Beer and Director of Manchester Craft Beer Festival, said: “It’s been a disheartening year for Manchester’s beer scene so far with closure of the beloved Indy Beer Con Fest and the unsuccessful debut of the International Brewing and Cider Festival, but we’re pleased to announce our return and bring more of what has been loved in the past three years.”
