FANTASY ROAD RACE IS GO

MCN Fantasy Road Race returns for 2016 – in association with Bennetts

-

MCN’s Fantasy Road Race competition, run in association with Bennetts, is go! After a stunning season of racing in 2015, now is the time for you to turn team manager and select your very own dream team for what promises to be another epic year of racing. Picking the winning team won’t be easy. You’ll have to become an expert in the BSB, WSB and Moto GP championships in a bid to secure the guaranteed big point-scorers, while making some shrewd investments to form a strong team that remains within your strict £10 million budget.

The prize for ultimate glory at the end of the year is well worth fighting for, though, with the overall winner securing the money-can’t-buy dream prize of a trip to a European round of the Moto GP championship in 2017 courtesy of Bennetts. In addition to that, Michelin are giving away a pair of tyres for each of the Game Round winners throughout the season. So the question now is who is going to be in your dream team and how are you going to spend your money? With the first official Moto GP test in Sepang now complete, the smart money in the premier class has to be on Jorge Lorenzo, who utterly dominated pro- ceedings in Malaysia. Valentino Rossi secured second, highlighting just how strong Yamaha has started the season. Rossi stunned the world in 2015 by winning the opening race – could he do it again in 2016? Meanwhile Honda appear to be struggling, but it would take a brave person to write of the formidable talents of Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa. Or do your loyalties lie with the Brits? Crutchlow, Redding and Smith all seem more than capable of getting in the mix. There’s only just over two weeks until WSB kicks off at Phillip Island and the form book suggests it will be between the Kawasaki and Ducati men. But with Yamaha officially back in the series with Alex Lowes and Sylvain Guintoli, and BSB champ Josh Brookes coming to join the party on the Milwaukee BMW, plus Honda’s Nicky Hayden, it’s a tough one to call. In BSB, four-time champion Shane Byrne has the biggest target on his back, but he’s got a new bike to deal with, having switched to Ducati, along with some serious competition. Former WSB runner-up Leon Haslam is back in BSB and has a point to prove, as does his GB moto team-mate James Ellison. American John Hopkins is also back in the hunt, riding last year’s title winning Yamaha in Tommy Hill’s new team.
