This stunning MV Dragster street scrambler could soon go into production
Rough Crafts custom builders were called in to give MV Agusta’s 2015 Dragster 800RR a guerilla-fighter feel. The Guerilla Tre was commissioned by MV Taiwan who insisted the machine be built with a view to making it a production machine – a limited run is on the cards. That gave Rough Customs a real challenge as most customs take hundred of hours, sometimes even thousands, to reach completion with many bespoke parts made along the way. Winston Yeh picked up the project and he’s already built a fearsome reputation in the custom bike world by building distinctive machines that are always mean and moody – and black! Yeh said: “This is the first bike ever that has not been our own take on things and where we have had to work with existing components. “I have to admit it’s challenging to make sure the design works with the pieces and still make a new concept statement.” The wheels are the 17in six-spoke forged wheels built by Wukawa Industry. Yeh added: “I decided the bike needed to go down the urban scrambler route because MV don’t really have this type of bike yet, and I really wanted to apply our Guerilla philosophy to it. “And with Pirelli’s MT60RS, I was able to get the scrambler vibe without losing street performance.” Stopping the bike is an upgraded master cylinder at the front, calipers and custom discs – all provided by Beringer. Providing a soundtrack for that wonderful triple is an HP Corse Hydro-Tre exhaust system. Accel motocross bars accompany the enduro-inspired Rough Crafts headlight design and keeping things clean are Motogadget grips, mirrors and bar-end indicators. The headlight was intended to work well with the tracker-inspired rear of the bike while a Gears rear shock takes care of the suspension. There’s never a dull moment at the Rough Crafts workshop with Winston now putting the finishing touches to a Ducati Scrambler build. He is also working on a Harley that he says will be a real head-turner. So are we really likely to see the MV Guerilla Tre in production any time soon? MV are refusing to confirm plans for a production run, but if this bike is well received it could well happen.
