MV Agusta promise progress
Agusta boss and ne w partner promises to improve service in the UK
New primary goal is ‘to fix our dealer network’ ‘We want dealers who love MV’ MV AGUSTA CEO GIOVANNI CASTIGLIONI
MV Agusta CEO, Giovanni Castiglioni promises that MV’s tumultuous past is behind them and admits they’ve had some recent failings.
After suffering money troubles, the Italian company now has new investment from Black Ocean Group and given MV a new lease of life. They bought out AMG (Mercedes).
In an exclusive interview with Castiglioni and Ocean Group CEO, Timur Sardarov, the pair told MCN the customer experience in the UK is their main focus now instead of simply producing lots of new bikes.
“Our primary goal is to fix our dealer network,” says Sardarov. “We have worked tirelessly to rationalise it and perfect the service they provide. We don’t want to just grow the dealer network, we want dealers to get bigger but remain in line with our vision of what MV is. This is paramount. It’s not a discussion, it’s just something we have to do.”
“We want dealers who love MV and want to work with MV,” Castiglioni said. “We don’t want people who just want us as the cherry on the cake and then don’t deliver the right service. In 2015 we expanded in the UK and we brought in some good dealers, but we also brought in those who were not good to the clients.
“Our goal is to have 98% of spare parts being available at your dealer within 48 hours by the end of 2018. We’ve also been working hard in the last two years on our product reliability. For 10 years we’ve been developing new models and, if anything, have overshot on building new models and lost some of our ocus. We’ve had some issues but we’ve worked on those and now reliability is probably one of our most important issues.”
MV Agusta will shortly be refreshing their four-cylinder 1000cc range, beginning with a new Brutale due to debut later this year, as well as refining the current F4 superbike.
