Were Silverstone right to keep fans waiting in the rain all day?
stop raining at exactly 3.45pm. Bullsh*t. It was always 6pm onwards. You didn’t need a track inspection, we could see from Club Corner it was a fricken lake. Even the commentary team were abruptly taken off air for their truthful comments. We went to Brands Hatch on Monday and that made us realise how soulless Silverstone is. We went to Mugello last year and it felt like a different sport. So can I have my £760 back for our six tickets at Club?
GP wasn't all bad…
Despite being a washout on Sunday I had a great experience meeting Valentino Rossi. It might have been wet but it was unforgettable.
Who built Mike's bike?
I write with regard to the article about the 12 Hailwood replicas (MCN, August 29). NCR Ducati had no input in the 1978-winning Ducati (including the paintwork). The bike was wholly built by Steve Wynne of Sports Motor Cycles with no help from the factory. Ducati did not get involved until the following year, 1979. This was confirmed during a conversation with Steve Wynne, a few years later.
Use your brain, Mr Plod
What is it with some coppers (MCN, August 29)? Enthusiasm is one thing, but this attitude towards your fellow citizens is quite another. Why is Chief Constable Anthony Bangham taking it upon himself to slow the whole nation down, costing us billions in lost productivity and time? He could be championing the cause of getting Britain moving again, looking for clever solutions, educating our legislators, creating variable limits and saving lives through brainpower, not the bullying tactics of police brawn.
We're easy targets
You could argue that Chief Constable Anthony Bangham should be applauded for his stance on law breakers. But when you look at the record on other more serious crimes he becomes another wooden top with no real idea what to do, so they go for easy targets.
My CB's a proper retro
It seems that Kawasaki’s Z900RS is in bike magazine features that bang on about its retro appeal. As a 2014 CB1100EX rider who has been asked many times how I keep an old bike in such good nick I find it disappointing. Also your parting comment in the group test (MCN, August 8) says the Japanese can’t inject the same level of soul into their bike design as the Europeans can, well the admiring comments on my CB1100 would blow that comment out of the water.
