When Kawasaki announced they were supercharging the sports touring market with the H2 SX we all got very excited. Taking over the pursuit of ultimate grunt from the ZZR1400, the H2 SX brings supercharging to the masses with a price tag of just £159 a month. But don’t think the SX is a one-trick pony. Kawasaki have built upon the normally-aspirated Z1000SX’s solid foundations to make an extremely effective, not to mention rapid, sports tourer.
Smooth yet brutally fast when required, the H2 SX is dominated by its motor, however Kawasaki haven’t
forgotten the basics of what makes a sports tourer tick. The H2 SX’s seat is comfortable, the riding position is nice and relaxed and it has a full array of modern electronic assists on hand to help you tame that near 200bhp engine. And it’s not bad for pillions either, as long as they hold on tight!
The higher spec SE adds a TFT dash, cornering headlights, launch control, up and down quickshifter, centrestand, larger screen and heated grips, however you have to pay £2500 extra and it boosts the monthly payment up to £179. Does it need it? Not really, the standard H2 SX is more than enough for most riders and while a bit of extra bling is nice to have, the heart and soul of this bike is that supercharged engine and that is identical between the models.
