● New partnership aimed to fill the gap left by strained police

● ‘There are 450 officers at our disposal’ BIKETRAC’S BILL TAYLOR

Stolen motorcycle tracking specialists, BikeTrac, have announced that they will begin working in partnership with private security specialists Securitas in a bid to improve their already impressive recovery statistics. Currently, after BikeTrac locate a stolen machine, there can be a long wait before a police officer is available to attend the scene. This is because forces up and down the country are stretched by serious crime pushing existing resources to the limit.

Under this new arrangement, a ‘Securitas Protective Services Officer’ will be sent instead to confirm the bike’s location and secure it until the police or owner is able to attend.

“We are extremely proud of our recovery rate which is very much down to the great support we have had and still have from police forces across the UK,” said BikeTrac’s Bill Taylor. “But while the support is still generally very good, there are occasions where we cannot get an officer on scene as quickly as we’d like, which is where Securitas will step in. “There are over 450 mobile officers and 200 vehicles from Securitas at our disposal and, while they do not have any additional ability over BikeTrac staff, the concept is to fill the gap when the police are not able to attend. If the bike is parked on private property, they will call the police and await their arrival.” BikeTrac have maintained a 94% recovery rate over the last decade and the new deal is aimed at bolstering that performance. There is no intent to charge customers any increased fee for this extra service, either. Richard Field, Sales Director, Mobile at Securitas added: “In Securitas we make a promise to our clients to keep their people, property and assets safe. Our promise, when combined with our core values of integrity, vigilance and helpfulness, help us create a safer society for everyone. “BikeTrac share the same values as Securitas, and we’re proud to be working in partnership to help protect their client’s most valuable assets,” he concluded.
