‘Panic buying..? No bog rolls here!’

But McG’s stocked up on plenty of petrol and plans to ride things out

‘NOW I FEEL LIKE I’M ALL DRESSED UP WITH NOWHERE TO GO’

Idid some panic buying last week, but I didn’t go and buy 300 bog rolls, I went and bought petrol. I’m not bothered about wiping my arse, I can use a dock leaf for that. What I was worried about was not being able to ride my bikes, so now if we get cabined up, I’ve got loads of fuel and a load of land to go riding on. I’ve got plenty to go at for the enduro bike and the speedway bike, but now I need a digger so we can start making jumps and stuff and also another old wreck of a car so we can start doing a bit of banger racing. At the end of the day you’ve got to pull out the positives. Last week I was speaking to Clive Padgett; it doesn’t matter what is going on in the world, Clive is so positive. He said if he gets locked down, he’ll just make sure it’s in the workshop. Although he won’t be able to sell any road bikes he will be able to work on his race bikes doing what he loves. Last Friday I went to Oulton Park for a trackday. I’m pretty disorganised so hadn’t booked it in advance and got there to find it was fully booked. We got put on the reserve list and were just hanging around for a space. The plan was to get on track and blow the cobwebs out before any more restrictions come into place. I’ve been flat out prepping the two V2s to race in the Ducati TriOptions cup, but now I feel like I’m all dressed up with nowhere to go.

It’s such a surreal situation for all of us and hard to believe what is happening in the world right now, but I think it’s important we try and keep ourselves from feeling depressed and try and see the positives. We just all need to come together and do what we need to do to get through the weeks ahead.
