Think 750, think Suzuki. But while the up-and-over-frame oil-cooled bikes have the distinct looks and the SRAD models make you feel like Chris Walker, it’s the K6/K7 from 2006/07 that’s the pick. It handles like a 600, has massive firepower, is more refined and practical than the more focused earlier bikes, and has a reputation for reliability. Ace thing.
Buyer beware
Suzuki had been making GSX-R750s for 21 years by the time the K6 arrived, so they had it licked – it’s so polished that problems are rare. There are a few moans about an overheating reg/rec messing with charging though, and throttle position sensor failure isn’t unheard of. Gearboxes can play up if they get abused, too (aftermarket quickshifters not advised). Don’t assume a loud pipe and rearsets mean a hard-riding owner – it could simply indicate love for their bike.
