Dovi on road to recovery
Andrea Dovizioso remains on target to be fit for the opening rounds of the new-look MotoGP season at Jerez on July 19 after breaking his collarbone last week. The factory Ducati rider, who has finished second in the championship standings for the last three years, sustained the injury whilst competing in a motocross event and his decision to be racing off-road this close to the season has split opinion within the paddock. The injury has only ramped up his tense negotiations with Ducati for the renewal of his contact at the end of the 2020 season. Ducati’s have proposed a cut in Dovizioso’s wages, a notion that the 34-year-old is currently refusing to accept.
