I test rode it and liked it immediately. On top of that, the monthly PCP deal suited me at the time.
“What I love most about biking is the freedom, the ability to filter through traffic and great trips abroad with friends. I’ve ridden to the Black Forest, the Picos and the Pyrenees. I’ve had the Tracer just 14 months and I’ve ridden it 5366 miles. The bike is pretty comfortable – I certainly won’t be spending hundreds on a replacement seat. I know a lot of people complain about the Tracer’s screen but I find it OK, although I might get a little clipon spoiler to go on top.
“In fact, I’ve done very little to the Tracer other than add a beak and a satnav mount. I’ve had no problems, other than a slight niggle with the front brake switch. When I pull the lever slightly the brake light seems to flicker on and off. It’s just an annoying thing which makes me use the rear brake more than I normally would just so the light can be seen.
“I considered the Suzuki V-Strom, but I didn’t like the looks of it. I also considered another Yamaha FJR1300, but it was too much to splash out on.”
