Proof, if proof were needed, that the key to good design is simplicity. The Quad Lock consists of a simple hard phone case, which then clicks into a mount and secures with a short twist. The case itself is little bulkier than any normal phone case, it leaves all the phone’s usual buttons and ports accessible, and means there’s no barrier between you and the touchscreen. You can purchase the system with one of three mounts: one that fits to a handlebar; one that fits on to a mirror stem, and one that secures into the top of your steering stem. When you select your preferred kit online you’ll also get the option to add a water-resistant ‘poncho’ which goes on top of your phone to shield it from rain. This adds £15 (the price stated above already includes this) but fitting the poncho does mean you can’t then access either the charging or headphone ports. A fantastic system if you just want a quick, convenient, simple, hassle-free mount.
