Santas rule Isle of Man

A huge charity ride is scheduled to take place on the Isle of Man on Saturday, December 12, and will comprise hundreds of bikers dressed as Santa. This December will be the third running of the event, which is hosted by communications company plan.com and will be in aid of Rebecca House Children’s Hospice.

This year’s route will begin at the Sea Terminal, heading through Douglas town centre and on to Castletown before returning to the hospice. The IoM has had a closed border for some time, with enforced quarantine for anyone entering the island, which has resulted in the territory becoming Covid-19 free and able to run large-scale events.

“Last year we welcomed over 200 Santas and their bikes and we hope to see even more people get involved in the celebrations as we spread some festive cheer after what has been a difficult year for everyone,” said Nicola Patterson, event organiser and a director at plan.com. “We’re extremely fortunate on the Isle of Man that events like this can go ahead, however that does not mean that the impact of the pandemic has not been felt. Charities like Rebecca House need our support more than ever, and we are determined to make Santa’s on a Bike 2020 the biggest and best yet, to help raise as much as we possibly can!”
