Bennetts to give away 90 CBTs to help celebrate their birthday

Insurer to get people into riding for free

-

Insurance broker Bennetts are giving away 90 Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) courses for free to celebrate their 90th birthday and to help get people into biking.

Working in tandem with RideTo, a nationwide network of training centres, Bennetts will be handing the vouchers to people who successfully tell them why they want to learn to ride and what they’re going to do once they get their hands on a bike. It really is as simple as going on the dedicated Ride Free section of the Bennetts website and filling out a form. The applications are being judged by former Team GB Olympics snowboarder Aimee Fuller, who took her CBT six years ago. “There’s never been a better argument for motorcycling as a safe way to get around, but there’s so much that riding offers aside from just a socially-distant alternative to public transport,” says Fuller.

As well as giving away CBTs, the Ride Free site is an initiative by Bennetts to help introduce as many people as possible to riding. On the site there will be loads of info on how to get started along with kit guides, reviews of security products and guidance on how to pick a the most suitable first bike. “Bennetts turned 90 in 2020 and we wanted to celebrate this milestone by giving something back to motorcycling,” adds Vince Chaney, Bennetts Managing Director. “With Ride Free, our aim is to help make it

‘We are giving something back to motorcycling’

easier to get on two wheels – be it people who’ve always thought about it or those wanting to return to riding.”

The applications are open until January 31, with successful new riders notified by February 12. For more info, or to apply, visit the website at: bennetts.co.uk/ridefree.
