Fantic reveal new 2021 models

Fantic use Euro 5 as perfect excuse for big updates

-

Fantic have completely overhauled their Caballero range, updating the 125 and 500 for Euro 5 while sadly saying goodbye to the 250.

The 125 models have had the biggest change, featuring a brand new 125cc Minarelli engine, a company that Fantic recently bought from Yamaha. The new engine makes use of a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system that allows it to switch cam profiles depending on RPM. With it there’s also a new cylinder head design, that combined with the VVA helps to improve power while also running cleaner and using less fuel although Fantic haven’t provided any figures just yet! The 125 also now comes with a slipper clutch, which as well as helping to prevent rear wheel lock ups on deceleration also helps to improve gear shifting as the pull is 20% lighter. Further Euro 5 changes include a new cooling system and a new exhaust with carbon fibre heat shield. Elsewhere there are small functional and cosmetic changes including moving the light switch to the lefthand side, an improved number plate hanger that offers more protection

from rear wheel spray and a more comfortable saddle.

For 2021 the Scrambler and Flat Track models return but they also joined by Deluxe model.

The 500 range has also been updated for Euro 5 and has gone through similar changes including a new ECU, exhaust and cooling system. The gear ratios have also been altered for better performance on road while the full range has gained the same updates as the 125s including relocated light switch, improved plate hanger and better saddle.

The full 500 range includes the Scrambler, Flat Track (now available in silver), Rally (now available in matte sand), Deluxe and Anniversary.
