KTM reveal 2021 bikes for fourrider factory-supported team
Squad prepare to launch a full-scale title attack with four factory-backed riders and machines for 2021
All eyes were on Brad Binder last year and the rookie duly responded by winning a MotoGP race at only his third attempt. He didn’t reach the podium again, but Binder did enough to show he’s a future title challenger for KTM.
What are your expectations?
I have much more experience now and I understand the category much better – my competitors, my bike, everything. I believe I can do a really good job with the incredible package. I’d really like to give KTM the results they deserve.
Any areas to improve in season two?
In several races last year I had the pace, but I was a little too keen to try and do crazy things. I crashed a lot, but I’ve had the offseason to understand what I’ve been doing and to try and improve my weak points.
For sure, I need to work on my riding with my corner exits being an example. I’m sure we’ll get it right!
What about the bike?
When certain tracks don’t quite suit our bike perfectly, we need to be able to adapt our setup and play around a little to get the most out of every weekend when things aren’t as easy. I’m more than happy with the power and handling of the bike.
You have a new [old] crew chief…
It’s going to be nice to have Andres Madrid back in my corner. He understands me really well as we’ve worked together in the past and I know we can do a good job together. I have plenty of faith in him and I’m excited to get going.
Are KTM title winners?
I believe we have what it takes to fight for the MotoGP title. Last year proved how strong our package was and I only see us improving. Suzuki’s success proved that if you work hard at something, you’re always going to get there. I believe we can do the same.
