MotoGP’s charity hits the road

-

Official MotoGP charity Two Wheels for Life are running an international charity relay to raise funds for their life saving work. The event, called The Great Relay, has been organised in conjunction with the Harley Owners Group (HOG) but is open to all bikers. The relay will begin in London on May 26, 2021 with the rideout lead by the new Pan America adventure bike. From London the relay will head into Europe making its way up to the most northern point of the continent at Nordkapp in Norway. After that the ride heads back down through Europe and back to the UK, taking in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

All in all the route covers 90 different stages and more than 10,000 miles in 13 different countries. Each leg will be led by a local HOG chapter with over 25,000 HOG members expected along the route. The relay will culminate back in London, 14 weeks later.

Because the ride is broken up into stages, riders are free to join and leave at their own wish. It also means riders are able to join the relay while adhering to local coronavirus restrictions and guidelines. Two Wheels for Life are hoping to raise €75,000 (approx. £65,000), which will help make up for the huge dent left in their finances after the cancellation of the Day of Champions – a charity auction that usually takes place before the Brit MotoGP round.

The route of The Great Relay can be found on the website: thegreatrelay21. com where you can also find more info on joining the rally.
