HARLEY DEALERS GEAR UP FOR SUMMER 2021
● Get ready to see Harley-Davidson’s Pan America in UK showrooms soon
As we move towards summer and the roadmap kicks in for a staged lifting of restrictions, the return to a newer version of biking normality is on the horizon.
Pan-American summer
With showrooms in England open now, you can start scouting around H-D dealerships in search of your next buy. The Pan America 1250 models are set to grace our shores in summer 2021, and based on the specification and price, they’re going to be well worth the wait.
The Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special are powered by the new 150bhp Revolution Max 1250 engine, a liquidcooled 1252cc-displacement V-twin designed to offer a broad powerband that builds to a rush of high-rpm power.
The Pan America 1250 is H-D’s ‘explore-it-all’ machine for riders who see touring as detouring and every route as a road. Priced at £14,000, this technologically advanced multi-purpose bike is designed from the ground up to inspire rider confidence and fuel the spirit of adventure. In standard trim it is kitted out with tech to enhance the riding experience, including multiple electronically controlled ride modes. The tech is designed to match performance to available traction during acceleration, deceleration and braking.
The S model has some extra features to play with for an extra £1500, including electronically adjustable semi-active front and rear suspension. But the party piece is the optional Adaptive Ride Height (ARH), a revolutionary suspension system which transitions between a low position when stationary and an optimal ride height when the motorcycle is in motion, which is good news for riders short on leg length.
H-D dealers will offer a complete line of the all-important accessories for the Pan America, including three durable luggage systems, and new technical riding gear for men and women developed in collaboration with kit specialists REV’IT!.
Tend to your bike…
You might not have made up the regular miles in the past year, but your bike is still in need of a service for that peace of mind on the ride. An annual service is a great way to do that – regardless of the mileage.
A typical annual service from an authorised dealer involves more than you might expect. Over 30 service check points are carried out, ranging from brake fluid levels and moisture content – brake fluid is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture regardless of mileage – through to engine and oil filter change and checking steering head bearing adjustment, then topped off with a test ride. But H-D have advised you to book well in advance to help comply with the latest guidelines.
In a nutshell, an annual service involves every major component that maintains that new bike sensation. Giving owners additional assurance is the fact that every Harley is checked trained technicians using the latest H-D service tools and hightech diagnostic systems. While you’re there, you’re in the right place to get parts and accessories fitted by the professionals too.
...and your wardrobe
After being in lockdown for so long, it might be time to splurge on some new clothes, and with Harley, it’s not just about the riding kit either.
For technical riding gear, check out the FXRG collection. It’s a range of riding equipment which meets all the PPE standards, and is engineered for versatility on any road, in any weather, at any time of year.
The 1903 collection has everything from leather jackets to casual wear for a vintage Harley vibe off the bike.
The Garage Collection, according to Harley, is stripped down and understated with rugged and raw edges. Essentially, it’s a range of leather and casual clothes that look good and feel good for just about every occasion – and that’s all that matters.
