HOT BMW TRADE-IN DEALS

O Perfect riding weather has arrived – along with some very tempting offers

-

‘The offer is valid until the end of June’

With spring finally in full swing and summer ready to bring more heat and riding weather, a new BMW could be just the thing to get the season started right. And now could be the perfect time with the firm’s hot summer upgrade offer.

Upgrading just got sweeter

When you trade-in your current bike for a brand-new BMW, the dealer will enhance its value by £500 if you’re upgrading to a new BMW from stock (the only exceptions being the S1000R, M1000RR and R1250RT). You can trade-in any model and any make and get your hands on a brandnew bike for less, but be quick, as the offer is valid until the end of the month (June 30, 2021).

Bikes to get your hands on

BMW’s range has everything from cruisers to adventure bikes, sportsbikes to super-tourers, so there’s something for everyone. If you’re after adventure crossed with the thrill that can only come from a sportsbike, the new S1000XR is could be your perfect partner. The updated model means ride quality and comfort are better for day-to-day use and motorways, plus it’s got more relaxed ergonomics. The tradeoff is you’ll need the optional Pro suspension if you prefer lean angle to long slogs. The XR still delivers everything expected of BMW’s all-rounder, and it’s one of the finest adventure-sports bikes on the market.

But if you’re looking for something a little more laidback, the R18 might be the one for you. With a huge pushrod twincylinder engine, enclosed rakedout forks, traditional lines plus a fine balance of heritage and bling, the substantial R18 First Edition retro-cruiser that the German brand launched last year is clearly aimed at trying to tease punters away from rumbling stars-and-stripes V-twins. It’s most definitely a cruiser, so feels great burbling along at 60mph and supplying rich sensations. The ‘Classic’ version retains the stripped-back model’s surprisingly neutral feel and easy control below 40mph, and swings through turns with ease, while offering a degree more touring potential.

And if you’re expecting to go further than you ever have before, then the new R1250GS Adventure is an outstanding option. With more power and torque than the old R1200GS, BMW have given the 1250 more spice, making it more fun than ever, with a great balance of performance, comfort and versatility. It’s almost impossible to find fault with. It’s still a physically large bike, but that aside, it’s pretty much perfect. ShiftCam meant few changes were made to make the R1250GS Euro5compliant and as such both power and torque output remain the same. The new six-axis IMU adds

Integral ABS Pro and the option of Hill Start Control Pro. Meanwhile, Eco riding mode will boost the fuel economy. The boxer layout gives a natural balance, which means low-speed manoeuvres and off-road riding are a doddle.
