Like a lot of places over the past year, Riders Café at Wheels Motorcycles, Peterborough, has suffered with forced closure and reduced hours, so their customers haven’t been able to get their much-appreciated breakfasts.
But, from August 1, Riders is set to open again on Saturdays, and there are coffees, meal deals and the full English ready to be eaten.
Paul Carlisle, digital operations manager at Wheels, said: “It’s the first time we’ve owned the café. Before we’d always sublet to a third party. It just so happens that we took over ownership just before lockdown! The menu is split quite nicely into breakfasts, light bites, soups and then main meals.” Catering manager Louise Tobell said: “We do a lot of meal deals and sell a lot of breakfasts. Our best dish I would say is probably the chicken wrap with sauce, cheese and spiced mayo that I make myself.”
All of the fillings on the menu are homemade by Louise, and she works with her customers to adapt her menu and make sure they don’t go hungry. “I’d rather speak to the customer, see what they want, and then trial and error it,” Louise continued. “I’ll do specials and I’ll always take onboard what customers say to me and I’ll try and adapt to what they want.”
The café sits above a Honda showroom; Wheels also has Kawasaki, Suzuki, Mutt, Aprilia and many more on site too, so can ponder your next ride over a pasty, grab a jacket at the extensive clothing store or wait for your MoT with a quality cuppa in hand. What could be better?
