Tucano Urbano Urbis jacket £149.99

Tested by Liam Marsden Time tested One month/400 miles What’s good? There are reflective strips on the sleeves and collar which can be folded away when you’re off the bike so as not to cramp your style at the coffee shop. The removable windbreaker layer helps keep the worst of the weather out and is beautifully snug. The soft collar on the lining stops the harder and stiffer collar on the outer digging into your neck. The pockets are plentiful (two on the inside of each liner), two on the chest, and there are handwarmer sections over the lower pockets so you can keep the contents zipped away and still tuck your hands out of the cold. What’s not? The ends of the sleeves are a little bulky – so far I haven’t found a pair of gloves that can go over or under to keep the winter chill out. Armour isn’t included with the jacket, but D3O armour slots snuggly into the shoulder, elbow and back protector pockets at an extra cost of £36 for shoulders and elbows. The adjustable waist straps slowly loosen off through use.
