Balanced on the edge of glory

Repsol Honda legend Toni Bou took a commanding win at the penultimate championship round of the FIM X-Trial at the weekend – leaving him needing just five more points from the final round to see him grab an eleventh world title. But it wasn’t all plain sailing for Bou, who only managed third in the qualifying round. However, a clean sheet in the second leg elevated him back to the top, with all his competition picking up penalties. That proved decisive, and despite picking up five marks of his own in the final leg, Bou went on to claim his 51st win ahead of this weekend’s final round in Nice.
