Taylor Mackenzie is another young gun expecting big things as he returns to BSB after a dominant year in the Superstock 1000 series. Mackenzie’s career had looked set for the doldrums after his first year in BSB saw him score zero points with Team WD40 Kawasaki, but a step back to Superstock saw him win the championship with a round to spare. After witnessing the effects of a poor year in BSB, Mackenzie is determined to make something of his big chance alongside Sylvain Guintoli in the Bennetts Suzuki team. “2015 was tough for a number of reasons and I genuinely thought about giving up,” Mackenzie said. “But after riding a superstock bike in a test towards the end of that year I felt good and thought I’d have a chance! “Last year was probably the first year I’ve really enjoyed racing for a long time, so I want to continue that momentum and with that in mind it’s the perfect time to step back into BSB and it’s great to be on the new GSX-R.”
