KENNEDY TAKES MV VICTORY

Jack Kennedy took a stunning victory in the second Dickies British Supersport race of the weekend with an incredible last lap, last corner pass on Appleyard Macadam Yamaha’s Keith Farmer. In what was the race of the weekend, a three-way scrap between Kennedy, Farmer and Andrew Irwin ensued in the closing stages of the race with Kennedy going from an almost distant third to the win in just half a lap. Going into the final lap, the battle seemed to be between Irwin and Farmer, but Kennedy made ground in the final two sectors and, with moves reminiscen­t of the iconic Tommy Hill v John Hopkins battle, won the race with an ambitious move at Clearways

before the drag to the line. Having won Saturday’s sprint race, Keith Farmer finally took over from the now-absent Tarran Mackenzie at the top of the championsh­ip standings. He now sits 26 points ahead of Irwin in the title fight. However, the actual winners weren’t the first bikes across the line in either race, with Alastair Seeley and Luke Stapleford taking one victory and a second apiece on their non-championsh­ip scoring Moto2 and World Supersport machines respective­ly.
