It was a joy – there were only 20 bikes in the group and Cadwell was warm, dry, and grippy. Bumping up the compression damping front and rear and dropping the pressures of the Conti RaceAttack Comp Endurance tyres (£286) was all the bike needed to excel. The highlight was actually the road riding though – the back way from Horncastle to Boston is a twisty delight and the R1 is stable and reassuring, made all the better by those brilliant Conti tyres. I’d seriously recommend them for fast road and trackday use.
