‘Undulations keep you focused’
Route two: The Western Adventure Starting at Cirencester, head north-east into the delightful Cotswolds on the B4425 through Bibury and tourist trap Burford before a quick blast west on the A40 and peeling off for Witney and then the A4095 to Bicester. Escape Bicester via the A421 to Buckingham and then Milton Keynes via world famous Bletchley. You’ll also pass Suzuki GB HQ on your left and then follow signs for Bedford.
Deal with Bedford’s niggly one-way system as quickly as you can, then it’s fun time. The joyful B660 rises and falls and generally takes your breath away through Kimbolton and all the way to the A1 at Norman Cross. It’s fast and flowing but make sure to slow down through the villages so as not to upset the locals.
The roads are a mix of the sublime and busy, but beyond the beautiful countryside is the satisfaction of riding a challenging and technical combination of roads and dealing with what they throw at you and your bike.
You will just have ridden the homeward leg of the MCN250, our challenging new road test route. You’ll get an idea of what our test bikes face every week on this stretch.
