Insurance rip-off
I have just had my 1998 Triumph 900 Thunderbird Sport stolen from the street. I bought the bike three years ago for £4500. My insurance company is only offering me £2600 even though on my renewal I said the bike was worth £5000. I have had to refer to the ombudsman as I don’t believe the book price reflects the market value where my policy clearly states ‘replacement value’ in the documentation. I cannot find a low-mileage Thunderbird Sport in good condition for under £5500 as it is increasing in value as a classic motorcycle. I would like other bikers to know about this rip-off and try to get a valuation included written in.
