SUPERSTOCK RACE
1st Peter Hickman Smiths BMW
In what was arguably the race of the week, Peter Hickman got the better of Michael
Dunlop and Dean Harrison to take his maiden TT win in Monday’s Superstock TT. The Lincolnshire ace didn’t have things easy after running on at Braddan Bridge on the opening lap, losing around 20 seconds to early race leader Dean Harrison with Michael Dunlop second. But in what can only be described as an emphatic charge, Hickman recovered the lost time to take the lead at the end of lap two. With Harrison dropping off in the closing stages, Dunlop took the lead but Hickman was never far behind. Just 0.1 seconds separated the duo at Ramsey on the last lap, but an astonishing run over the mountain saw Hickman pull four seconds on Dunlop to take his first TT win. Harrison completed the podium ahead of Gulf BMW’s David Johnson and Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s James Hillier.
