New street-focused Moto Morini Corsaro revealed

Moto Morini slim down weight and price of big twin

- By Jordan Gibbons SENIOR REPORTER

Moto Morini have unveiled the Corsaro ZT, which is a slimmed-down version of the Corsaro ZZ, aimed at city riders. Morini say that the ZT is for those who want to ‘be less committed while still staying involved’, which we assume is code for ‘aimed at those who fancy a Corsaro but don’t want to spend £18,000’. That’s fair enough, especially when the Corsaro’s gorgeous engine is untouched. That means you get a punchy 1187cc V-twin which puts out 137bhp and 92ftlb of torque. The peak torque arrives early too, giving a big punch in the midrange that’s ideal for darting around city centres. Morini have tailored the chassis so that the tank is thinner making it easier to get on and off the bike, as well as making it more manoeuvrable in the saddle. The ZT has also been given a slight retro makeover, so it’s got a single round headlight as seen on the firm’s Scrambler, as well as new indicators, smaller mudguards and a repositioned dash. All this chopping and changing has resulted in a six kilo kerb weight reduction, although that’s mostly down to the shrunken tank. The rest of the kit is what you would expect from a Corsaro, so it comes with fully adjustable Mupo suspension front and rear, Brembo brakes and Pirello Diablo Rosso II tyres. The ZT has Bosch 9.1 ABS and customisable clocks but does not have traction control, rider modes or other electronic aids. Moto Morini now have two dealers in England (orders for new bikes were previously taken directly at the factory) and one in Northern Ireland.

The Corsaro ZT is available to order now for £14,300 and comes with a three-year warranty.
