Coffee with coconut oil might be the in thing among fitness hipsters, but if you’re serious about getting lean, take a spicier approach. ‘Many claims made about coconut oil in coffee have been blown out of proportion or lack evidence,’ says sports nutrition specialist Scott Baptie (foodforfit­ness.co.uk). ‘For fat loss, you’re better off with a spicy caffè latte – it contains fewer calories than coffee with oil or butter and will help fire up your metabolism.’
