Spice up your cof­fee and you’ll burn more fat

Cof­fee with co­conut oil might be the in thing among fit­ness hip­sters, but if you’re se­ri­ous about get­ting lean, take a spicier ap­proach. ‘Many claims made about co­conut oil in cof­fee have been blown out of pro­por­tion or lack ev­i­dence,’ says sports nutri­tion spe­cial­ist Scott Bap­tie (food­for­fit­ness.co.uk). ‘For fat loss, you’re bet­ter off with a spicy caffè latte – it con­tains fewer calo­ries than cof­fee with oil or but­ter and will help fire up your me­tab­o­lism.’
