Coffee with coconut oil might be the in thing among fitness hipsters, but if you’re serious about getting lean, take a spicier approach. ‘Many claims made about coconut oil in coffee have been blown out of proportion or lack evidence,’ says sports nutrition specialist Scott Baptie (foodforfitness.co.uk). ‘For fat loss, you’re better off with a spicy caffè latte – it contains fewer calories than coffee with oil or butter and will help fire up your metabolism.’
