TOTAL MELTDOWN
You’ve mastered the elite techniques, but what should you avoid? Don’t become a perpetrator of these common faux pas
MR DROP-IT-LIKE-A-SQUAT
The swing is a hinge movement – your knees should be soft to allow for some movement in the legs – but a squat, it is not. Look down as you descend: where the head goes, the body follows.
MR ARM-BRUISER
Flipping the bell just before the top of the snatch will cause it to come crashing down across your forearm. Turn your wrist throughout the rep; start with your palm outward and finish inward. This way, the bell will just glance around the wrist.
MR STIFF-ASA-BOARD
Slow, methodical bodybuilding movements can only take you so far. Loosen up: the kettlebell requires smooth movements, with momentum generated from the hips. Use that inertia to wrangle the bell into place.
