Sex fiend caught on CCTV in silver wig and a dress
A SEX attacker was caught on CCTV running down the stairs from his flat in a long silver wig, black minidress and leather jacket before assaulting a teenage jogger, a court heard.
Mark Brown, 30, had spotted his victim as she passed his home in Newington Green, north London, in the early hours.
He dashed from the flat – putting on the wig as he ran – then chased after her for around 500 yards before pouncing.
The girl, in her late teens, was unaware of anyone following her until he put his hand on her shoulder.
She tried to push him away and shouted at him but he shoved her to the ground. She continued kicking and screaming but she had her eyes shut.
When she opened them, she saw her attacker running off in the distance – with his distinctive long silver hair.
She reported the attack to police, and detectives found CCTV footage showing convicted sex offender Brown racing from his flat, putting on the wig as he went. He was arrested and charged with sexual assault on October 5.
At first, he denied it was him in the footage, saying he believed it was a woman. When asked about the wig, he initially said ‘no comment,’ before telling officers that he had bought it for a fancy dress party but ‘threw it out ages ago’.
The court heard that Brown had previously been convicted of seven counts of sexual touching and was on the sex offender’s register. He was already subject to a 10pm-8am curfew.
He was found guilty of sexual assault at Wood Green crown court and will be sentenced next month. Investigat
